Bieżące komunikaty prasoweUniserv wykona modernizację Zakładu Elektrowni Wodnych w Niedzicy
W ramach zawartej z końcem czerwca b.r. umowy Uniserv S.A. wykona na terenie ZEW w Niedzicy remont rurociągów i instalacji wody chłodzącej i technologicznej dwóch hydrozespołów Nr 1 i 2 o mocy 46,375 MW każdy. Prace modernizacyjne rozpoczną się jesienią i zakończą z końcem b.r. Wartość kontraktu to ok 2 mln zł.
Budynek hydroelektrowni jest położony poniżej zapory Niedzica będącej najwyższą zaporą ziemną w Polsce. Koncepcja budowy zbiornika w okolicach Niedzicy powstała już w latach 20-tych ub. wieku, a o budowie zdecydowano po katastrofalnej powodzi na Podhalu w 1934, podczas której zalanych zostało ponad 20 tys. Gospodarstw. Budowę zbiorników, zapór oraz elektrowni zakończono jednak dopiero w 1997 r.
Oprócz produkcji taniej i ekologicznej energii elektrycznej z odnawialnych źródeł energii największą korzyścią z zapory i elektrowni wodnej w Niedzicy jest ochrona leżących w dole Dunajca terenów, zagrożonych wcześniej powodziami. Położony w malowniczym otoczeniu, wśród pienińskich szlaków turystycznych, obiekt realizuje funkcję dydaktyczną. Elektrownia, w tym pomieszczenia technologiczne wraz z urządzeniami do produkcji prądu oraz zapora są udostępnione do zwiedzania.
Elektrownia szczytowo – pompowa
Zasoby Dunajca stanowią 20 proc zasobów górnej Wisły, a jego potencjał energetyczny należy do największych w Polsce. Elektrownia wykorzystuje wody Zbiornika Czorsztyńskiego które doprowadzane są dwoma wydrążonymi w skale sztolniami o średnicy 7 m. EW Niedzica jest elektrownią przepływową, szczytowo-pompową, co oznacza, że oddaje energię elektryczną do sieci w godzinach największego zapotrzebowania. Możliwości pompowe wykorzystuje się w godzinach nocnych, kiedy energia jest tania i jest jej dużo, wówczas woda pompowana jest z dolnego zbiornika do górnego, a następnego dnia jest wykorzystywana do napędzania turbin.
